York to teach 3 real estate classes
James D. York, a local Realtor, will instruct three real estate classes in conjunction with the Collier County Public Schools and the District School Board of Collier County?s Adult and Community Education Department.
Real Estate I: Naples trends and recent market statistics; the best way to buy/sell real estate in today?s market; what is the true value of a home; how appraisals effect your sale. Learn how to buy short sales, save on homeowners insurance, foreclosures and bank-owned properties, content of all real estate contracts and how they can affect your purchase or sale. Also included is a field trip to the county clerk?s office for a foreclosure sale. Class meets for six weeks on Wednesday starting Sept. 5 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost: $79.
Real Estate: Save Your Home: this class will provide options on saving your home from foreclosure, such as repayment, reinstatement, forbearance, selling the property, deed in lieu, short sale, bankruptcy, federal foreclosure help and loan modification. Other topics include listing your property as a short sale, what your home is worth and options for selling your property before a foreclosure sale. Class meets for three weeks starting on Monday, Sept. 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost: $59.
Real Estate for First Time Homebuyers: this course is designed for first-time homebuyers or parents and grandparents who want to help their children purchase a home and learn how to receive a tax benefit. Topics include identifying the first steps of ownership; how much money needed for a down payment; how does you credit score effect purchasing a home; affordability, monthly cost difference of owning a house versus a condo; and how to obtain state bonds to help with a down payment. Class meets on three consecutive Thursdays starting Sept. 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Cost: $59.

Royal Shell Real Estate agents Jamie Lienhardt, Realtor, CIPS, TRC, located in the company?s Bonita Springs office, and Jim Branyon, Realtor, CBR, e-PRO, located in Sanibel Island office, attended the Florida Realtors 96th annual Convention & Trade Expo held August 8-12, 2012 at the Marriott World Center in Orlando. Each year, the Convention & Trade Expo brings Realtors from around the state together to discuss and vote on key issues that shape their profession and state association. in addition to committee meetings, members attend educational seminars on business strategies, identifying investment opportunities, pricing in a competitive market and more.
