Long Beach State to face New Mexico in NCAA Tournament

Just before 3:30 p.m. they found out they are the No. 12 seed in the West Regional and will square off with No. 5 seed New Mexico (26-6) -- the Mountain West Conference champion -- on Thursday in Portland, Ore.

The 49ers (25-8) earned an automatic bid into the tournament with its 77-64 victory over UC Santa Barbara on Saturday in the Big West Conference tournament title game.
