US airlines ask court to block Ex?Im Bank's loan guarantees to Air India

American pilots and airlines have asked a federal judge to stop the Export-Import Bank of the US from lending Air India USD 1.3 billion in loan guarantees to buy Boeing Co aircraft. James Boasberg, US District Judge in Washington, heard arguments by trade associations for the largest US airlines and pilots requesting that he block the guarantees. Boasberg said he would rule on the request by January 13. ?It?s likely that Air India will put these airliners on routes in competition with American airlines and records show zero jobs would be created,? Robert Bailey, a lawyer, told the judge, according to a report by Bloomberg.
