Restaurants keep serving foie gras even after California bans sale of it

Restaurants in the Bay Area and all over the Golden State continue to find ways to serve foie gras even after sale of it was banned as of July 1.

Strategies for continuing to sell the engorged livers of ducks and geese range from claiming to be on federal land, as the Presidio Social Club does, to listing foie gras as a free side dish instead of a main dish, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Though animal cruelty prevention groups hate the dish, restaurateurs are finding loopholes that let them keep offering it.
